Reading

In the morning, Roxanne and Adelaide like to read together. This morning, however, Rox had some work to do, so Addy decided to read to herself.

This is a Hawaiian book from Aunty Faith called "Gecko Up Gecko Down" and Addy loves to look at the pictures.

Rox and Adelaide actually read this particular book almost everyday.

Addy even likes the way this book tastes.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. As usual, we hosted and we invited friends and family. Aunty TJ and Rick were first to arrive followed by Grandma shortly after.

Here is Grandma teaching Addy to reach for her.

When Carlos and Iris arrived, we had to break out the puzzle, a tradition at our house.

Uncle Will gets in on the puzzle action, too.

Papa Scott also loves to work on puzzles.

Here is TJ enjoying some yummy bacon covered shrimp that she brought.

Andrea and Alexis were in charge of decorating and setting the table. Here is Andrea making our Thanksgiving table look great.

Alexis was in charge of napkins.

John spent time overseeing the girls and being helpful.

Lora jumped right in and carved the turkey. She did a wonderful job getting all of the meat off of the turkey.

Just before our meal Adelaide went down for a nap, which gave me an opportunity to actually eat something without a baby in my lap.

Just after I finished eating, Addy woke up. We fed Adelaide her first meal of rice cereal, but she was so hungry that she was getting a little frustrated that the food wasn't coming fast enough, so Mama Rox gave her a bottle. Alexis wanted to help feed the baby.

Here we all are after the meal.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves at Addy's first Thanksgiving.

Here are the Thanksgiving pants I just had to buy for our special day.

Well Baby Check - 4 Months

Today we took Adelaide to her 4 month check up. At the visit, she was weighed and measured. She is 14 lbs. 0.9 oz (6.374 kg) (60%), 2 feet (0.61 m) (40%) and her head circumference is 16.38" (41.6 cm) (68%) . She is developing well and seems to be healthy and right on track. We ended the doctor's visit with shots for Addy as well as a flu shot for me. We got the go ahead to introduce Adelaide to solid food, so we plan on giving her some rice cereal tomorrow for Thanksgiving.

More New Quilt

Addy really loves the new quilt that Grandma Nan made for Mama Rox. Here are a few picture of her enjoying her mid-morning nap under the new quilt.

Addy is able to find her thumb consistently. We are so proud of her.

Laughing Addy

After an explosive diaper, Addy got a bath and Mama Rox started playing with her on her bed. This is the first couple of days of real laughter from Adelaide and we just wanted you to hear her joyful sounds.

Going Out

This evening was the first time Roxanne and I had an evening event that our beautiful daughter was not exactly welcome. It was a work party for Rox's co-worker who got a position at Headquarters. We brought the baby to Grandma Sandy and Papa Scott's house for the evening. When we dropped her off, I only cried a little. She was happy from about 5:30 pm when we left her, until about 8:30 pm when we call to see how everything was going. Addy got a little bit angry that we weren't there for our bedtime routine. She fell asleep and calmed down until we called again on our way home. I could hear her crying in the background and I cried too. We couldn't drive fast enough to get her. By the time we arrived, she was sitting in Papa Scott's lap just as fine as she could be. We will have another opportunity to go out without her in a couple of weeks for Rox's annual Holiday Party. Hopefully, will have a better time.

Here is a picture of Rox and Addy just before we went out. The dress Addy is wearing is a Sturgis Bike Rally dress given to her by Aunty TJ and Rick.

Rox and Addy look good together in their biker shirts.

Visiting Grandma Sandy & Papa Scott

As has become our weekly ritual, we went to Grandma Sandy and Papa Scott's house on Saturday. This week Aunty TJ was there to visit with us as well. We normally go over in the later afternoon and stay for dinner, but this week we decided to go over early and have lunch. We were hoping that Addy would be awake and happy longer if we went over earlier, but all that happened is that she needed a nap. So we ate dinner while Adelaide napped on the living room floor.

Here is Papa Scott and Addy.

Just hanging out on the couch.

When Addy woke up from her nap, Aunty TJ was very excited to play with her...

And give her kisses.

Hanging with Aunty Cole

I had the day off on Friday because it was parent/teacher conference day and I no longer have to deal with that. I was very excited to spend the day hanging out with my daughter and we decided to go downtown to visit Aunty Cole. We first stopped by Bliss Salon to bring Aunty Viki some lunch. After that we went to the computer store to get the computer fixed again. We ended up hanging out at my favorite coffee shop, tHERe coffee bar and lounge.

Here is Addy and Aunty Cole outside at Bliss waiting for Viki.

This is upstairs at tHERe. I love Aunty Cole's new hair cut, she looks like a different person.
