Leaving Maine

The week flew by much too fast. Before we knew it, we were heading back to Denver. We had an amazingly wonderful week! The only hard thing was that we were so far away from Mama Rox.

Here we are on the 10:00 boat heading to the mainland.

Here is Addy laying down in the airplane, sucking her thumb. We were lucky that we didn't have anyone else in our row, so we could really stretch out and get comfortable.

Visitors in Maine

Between boats, Steph and Jared came by to eat lunch and visit with us.

Here is Steph holding Addy, while they talk to one another.

Adelaide loved looking at Steph.

To my great surprise, Jared was wonderful with Addy. He even bounced and sang to her when she starting getting a little fussy.

Trip to Maine

The weekend went by quickly. We enjoyed spending time with Michelle and eating yummy food made my Grandma Nan.

Here is Michelle and Eliza getting ready to leave. I just love the puppy carrier. I used something similar when carrying Addy through then airport.

Trip to Maine

After having her two month check up, Adelaide and I went to the airport to go to Maine for the week. One of the side effects of the shots is that children are often tired and Addy was no exception. She nursed for take off and landing, but slept the for rest of the 5 hour flight. It was nice holding her in my arms while she slept. We were lucky enough to have an empty seat right next to us, so we didn't feel too crowded. Our flight was delayed by about 2 hours and as a result, when we arrived in Boston we only had 1 1/2 hours to catch the last boat of the night. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Boston to Cousins Island and we would have missed the boat by about a half an hour. We ended up staying the night in a motel room in Portland and we woke up early to catch the first boat on Saturday morning.

Here is Addy wearing her lobster hat waiting for the first boat.

Grandma Nan held Addy for most of her first boat ride.

This is where Addy took most of her naps, on the floor wrapped up in beautiful quilts made by Grandma Nan.

My best friend Michelle came over to spend the weekend with us on Chebeague. She brought her dog Eliza. The dogs got along well with each other and were not really bothered by the baby.

Here is Addy trying to ride Eliza. What a cute picture.

Here is Grampy David with both of the dogs. I can't believe how well they got along.
